Based on the success of our inaugural YCW Mentorship Programme in our Beijing chapter since 2015, we are now seeking mentors for our London Mentorship Programme for 2017-2018, in partnership with three of London’s leading universities: King’s College London (KCL), the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and London School of Economics (LSE).
This is an excellent opportunity for London-based YCW members to play a more active role in the China-watching community, to establish links with next generation of talented China thought-leaders, and to build their own mentorship skills.
Mentors will be assigned one of up to 20 mentees from our three partner universities as well as postgraduate students in the wider YCW Community. Mentors will ideally be mid-senior career professional with a China background.
The Programme will run from September 2017 – July 2018, during which time mentors and mentees will meet regularly to discuss career aspirations and job hunting techniques. Meetings will be both on a one-on-one basis, as well as with the wider cohort. Through the Programme, mentees and their mentors will have opportunities to develop new friendships and to attend networking events.
Mentor Application Criteria
- Resident in London September 2017 – July 2018;
- Able to commit 3-5 hours a month for the duration of the programme;
- Able to commit to regular communication with appointed mentee;
