Young China Watchers (YCW) Shanghai is recruiting two directors to join its dynamic leadership team.
YCW is an all-volunteer organisation focused on connecting and educating the next generation of China thought-leaders through forums and other events, including a speaker series that has attracted top policymakers and academics.
Shanghai is one of the largest of 10 YCW chapters around the world. Others include Beijing, London, Hong Kong, Brussels, Berlin, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, and Washington DC. YCW has a total of more than 5,000 highly engaged members.
Both directors will work alongside YCW Shanghai head Nihal Kutlu, in driving YCW Shanghai’s ambitious strategy and operations, in addition to being connected to the global YCW community.
As a director you will be expected to suggest future speakers and organise talks, moderate panel discussions, coordinate logistics, and propose potential partnerships, all towards growing the community in Shanghai. Above and beyond that responsibilities may also include coordinating with other chapters, and interacting with the YCW Global Editorial Team on the YCW pipeline to line up on-and off-line content. The role will require a time commitment of a few hours per week.
