François Godement is Professor of political science at Sciences Po in Paris, Director for strategy of Asia Centre, also in Paris, Senior policy fellow of the European Council on Foreign relations, and non resident Senior associate of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (Washington). He is also an outside consultant to the Policy Planning Directorate of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mark Leonard is Co-Founder and Director of the European Council on Foreign Relations. Previously he worked as Director of Foreign Policy at the Centre for European Reform, and Director of the Foreign Policy Centre, a think-tank he founded under the patronage of Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Mark has spent time in Washington as a Transatlantic fellow at the German Marshall Fund of the United States, and in Beijing as a visiting scholar at the Chinese Academy for Social Sciences.
Jonas Parello-Plesner joined ECFR as Senior Policy Fellow in 2010 directly from a position as Executive Director of a Danish development NGO. Prior to that he pursued a diplomatic career. He served as Denmark’s Senior Advisor on China and North East Asia from 2005-2009 and has engaged in numerous diplomatic exchanges with China including the negotiations for a Strategic Partnership between Denmark and China in 2008. He was also one of the chief architects in elaborating a Danish Strategy on China as a whole-of-government exercise.
