With more than 35 years of China-watching experience, Dr. Willy Wo-Lap Lam is a recognized authority on areas including the Chinese Communist Party, Chinese foreign policy, the People’s Liberation Army, as well as the country’s economic and political reform. He is an Adjunct Professor of History and Political Economy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as a Select Professor of China Studies at Akita International University, Japan. Dr. Lam is also a Senior Fellow at Jamestown Foundation, a leading foreign-policy think tank in Washington D.C. A former journalist, Dr. Lam has worked for the South China Morning Post and CNN. He is the author of Chinese Politics in the Hu Jintao Era (M E Sharpe, New York, 2006) and The Era of Jiang Zemin (Prentice Hall, Singapore & New York, 1999).
