YCW London is pleased to collaborate with the London Society for Chinese Studies on this forum, led by Professor Stephen Chen OBE of SOAS University of London.
The event will begin at 18:00 where for the first hour, Professor Chen will give a talk followed by a Q&A.; From 19:00, there will be an hour long small-group discussion.

Stephen Chan
Professor Stephen Chan OBE has twice been Dean at SOAS University of London, twice been Visiting Fellow at Oxford, was last year’s Konrad Adenauer Chair of Academic Excellence at Bir Zeit University and is this year’s George Soros Chair of Public Policy at the Central European University. He won the 2010 International Studies Association prize, ‘Eminent Scholar in Global Development’. A former international civil servant (after graduating from King’s) he has published 31 scholarly books and has advised many governments, liberation movements and opposition groups in Africa, where he also lived for many years.
