In partnership with King’s College London’s Lau China Institute, YCW held a fifth writing competition on the theme: “China: Knowledge Superpower”.
We invite you to join us for a virtual awards ceremony in which we recognise the overall winner, runners-up and judges of the competition.
This ceremony is part of Lau China Institute’s China Week.
Background
The competition’s mission is to discover and showcase the newest young writing talent on China in the UK. We want to help foster the next generation of experts on China by providing a platform for young people to be heard.
This year’s theme encompassed China’s activities across three spheres: research and development; innovation; and education.
Judges were privileged to receive original and well-argued insights from students and early-career professionals. The top three pieces approached the theme from novel angles: space exploration, healthcare delivery, and research cooperation along China’s “Belt and Road”.
Judges
Bin Xu (Head of Digital Innovation Labs, Pfizer China)
Brian Wong (Founding Editor in Chief, Oxford Political Review)
Charlotte Goodburn (Deputy Director, Lau China Institute)
Daniel Brooker (Director, UK Research & Innovation China)
