Operations & Web Development

No Coding Experience Necessary

Deadline for response: June 15. Please email tech@youngchinawatchers with a resume and a statement of interest.

This is an unpaid, part-time internship (est. workload is 5-10 hours/week), and is very ideal for a student who:
— is in the bay area during the summer taking classes or working
— has an interest in working in China or China-related affairs sometime in the future
— would like to receive training in one of the newest web app development platforms (no coding experience necessary, just good logic skills)
— appreciates good design, both in terms of organizational efficiency and aesthetics

THE WORK:
— assist in creating a web platform on Bubble (bubble.is)
— internal digital operations: building and optimizing the ways that different chapters share content and promote events with each other
— external marketing and communications

THE PERKS, ie what you will get out of this:
— access to and mentorship from a team of 20+ professionals in 8 chapter cities
— valuable training in web development that will help you wherever you go next
— mentors who will go to bat for you when it comes to recommendation letters, other job opportunities, networking in China. Our experiences span finance, business, media, politics and academia.

This is an unpaid internship. All YCW operations are currently volunteer-driven.
