“Young China Watchers & Lau China Institute Writing Competition 2022”
‘China’s Digital Transformation’
In partnership with King’s College London’s Lau China Institute, YCW held a fourth essay competition on the theme: “China’s Digital Transformation”.
Judges were privileged to receive lucid and thoughtful contributions from students and early-career professionals. All demonstrated the ability of young people to present compelling viewpoints and proposals on China’s digital transformation – topic that garners increasing attention and concern.
Essays were reviewed by a group of YCW, Lau China Institute and external judges, who looked for thorough research, a strong writing style and original analysis.
The Winning Entry
Following several rounds of judging, we are delighted the announce that Luke Cavanaugh’s essay titled “How Online Mass-Line could Transform China’s Political Ecosystem” was selected as the winner.
Runners-Up
The Runners-Up were Christina Burjan and Jingbo Hua. Christina wrote on the China’s technology R&D.
Jingbo wrote on China’s health code system.
