YCW London are delighted to invite our community to a book discussion with Tim Hames, author of “War or Peace? The United States and China, 2026–2049.“
When: 18:30-20:00, Tuesday 13 October 2026.
Where: The Electric Elephant Cafe, 186A Crampton St, London SE17 3AE
Drawing on his background as an Oxford political scientist, former Times chief leader writer, and Director General of the British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, Tim’s new book probes the relationship between the world’s two superpowers over the second quarter of the 21st century, and sets out a manifesto for moderation over the “destined for war” narrative that dominates much current thinking.
The book challenges and encourages readers to reconsider how they evaluate China and the changes expected over the coming 20–25 years.
Moderator: Rosie Levine, Executive Director at the US-China Education Trust (USCET). Prior to USCET, Rosie was a senior program analyst at the United States Institute of Peace and the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. She formerly served as chapter head of Young China Watchers’ DC and New York chapters.
