We are pleased to announce the appointment of several new directors to the Young China Watchers London chapter. The team will design and deliver the YCW London programme for 2026.

Clement Ngu, London Co-Head
Clement Ngu is an independent journalist based between London and Brussels. His work focuses on EU-China relations, technology and trade. He was previously a senior consultant at FTI Consulting where he advised governments and multinationals on international public affairs. Prior to this, he was a Parliamentary researcher, where he worked on digital and financial regulation. He holds an MSc in Democracy and Comparative Politics from University College London.
Dominique Vletter, London Co-Head
Dominique is an associate in the Competition and Antitrust team at Sidley Austin LLP. Originally from the Netherlands, Dominique holds a BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Dual MSc in International Affairs from Peking University and LSE, subsequently qualifying as a lawyer. She studied Chinese at Tsinghua University and the ICLP at National Taiwan University, achieving an HSK 5. Her interests include international Chinese trade and subsidies issues, and Chinese business and investment in Europe.


Fleur le Noble, Events Director
Fleur is currently a Sustainability Research Analyst at ISS STOXX, where she conducts corporate sustainability risk assessments for global institutional investors. Previously, Fleur worked with international institutions including the European Commission and the Council of Europe. She holds a dual MSc in Global Political Economy of China and Europe from the LSE and Fudan University. Her areas of interest are EU–China relations, sustainable finance, public policy, and tea.
Sophia Shi, Events Director
Sophia has a Chinese background and has been based in London for the past 9 years. She is currently an Associate Manager at KPMG, where she works as a strategy consultant with experience in market access strategy, commercial due diligence and growth strategy. Alongside her consulting career, Sophia is serving as Vice chair for Femella, an Alumni Ambassador for King’s College London, where she completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, and a mentor with The Diana Award.


Baran Ayguven, Director
Baran is a specialist in corporate intelligence. He graduated from the War Studies Department at King’s College London and founded the KCL Global China Studies Society during his studies. Baran has also participated in a summer programme at Fudan University to study Chinese foreign policy and media strategy. His interests focus on China’s foreign policy, regional security issues, and diplomacy.
Amelia Shaulko, Communications Director
Amelia is currently a teaching assistant at the London School of Mathematics and Programming. She holds an MA Hons in Chinese and Linguistics from the University of Edinburgh. She has also previously studied Chinese at National Cheng Kung University and achieved HSK 5. Her interests include China’s economic policy, China-EU relations and Chinese visual media.
